About the event

Prepare for an evening of lively music, laughter and spirited dancing at the festival Ceilidh (pronounced “kay-lee”). Inspired by Scottish and Irish tradition, this energetic bush dance brings people together to celebrate community - and Trentham’s proud potato-growing heritage.

A live folk band will set the tone with rousing jigs, reels and waltzes guaranteed to get toes tapping. New to ceilidh dancing? No problem. An experienced caller will guide each dance, so you’ll quickly find yourself stepping, spinning and smiling alongside friends and strangers alike. Expect group dances, joyful mayhem and plenty of shared moments on the dance floor.

This year the Spudfest Ceilidh is all about dancing, so tables will be limited (there will be plenty of chairs when you need a rest). As there will be mostly chairs, rather than tables, this means there won’t be much opportunity to set up or share meals. If you’re planning to…
