About The Great Trentham Spudfest

History of Spudfest

The Great Trentham Spudfest is an annual event that celebrates the rich heritage, culture and produce of the region of Trentham, Victoria, Australia. It has been around, in some form, since 2008.  2024 saw the introduction of expanding the festival to two days, each allowing visitors to celebrae the spud in unique ways.  The festival brings together local potato growers, artisans and food vendors to showcase their products and share their stories. Our mission is to promote the community spirit and togetherness among the people of Trentham and beyond.

Acknowledgement of country
The Great Trentham Spudfest Inc. acknowledges the Dja Dja Wurrung people of the greater Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and create. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

Our Commitment to Accessibility & Inclusion

Physical Accessibility

The festival site is designed to be as accessible as possible, with mostly step-free access, wheelchair-friendly pathways, and accessible toilet facilities.  There is even wheelchair-friendly picnic tables available in the Railway Precinct on Saturday.  If you require assistance, our volunteers are here to help.

Sensory-Friendly Spaces

We recognize that festivals can be overwhelming, so we have designated quieter areas for those who need a break from the noise and crowds.  The Trentham Neighbourhood Centre (corner of Market Street and High Street) will be open for those wanting a break.

Assistance and Support

If you require Auslan interpretation, visual guides, or other support services, please contact us in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Companion and Carer Support

We welcome companion cardholders and carers, ensuring that everyone has the support they need to enjoy the festival.

Diverse and Inclusive Programming

Our festival features a diverse range of performances, activities, and storytelling that celebrate our town’s heritage while embracing the many identities that make our community strong.

Dietary Considerations

As a food-focused festival, we are committed to offering a variety of dietary options, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergen-friendly choices.

Cultural Sensitivity

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of this land, the Dja Dja Wurrung people of the greater Kulin Nation, and pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging. We strive to honor and incorporate Indigenous perspectives into our celebration of the land and its produce. We have a Welcome to Country ceremony at the opening of the festival.

Feedback and Continuous Improvement

We are always looking to improve. If you have suggestions on how we can make the festival more accessible and inclusive, please reach out to us at info@trenthamspudfest.org.au.

We look forward to celebrating with you and ensuring that The Great Trentham Spudfest is a joyful experience for all!
