Dig Into Blackwood’s Golden History

Step into the stories of Blackwood’s gold rush past at the Blackwood Historical Society on Discovery Day. Once a bustling town of 13,000 hopeful prospectors, hotels and gold workings, today’s quiet village still holds incredible tales waiting to be uncovered.

Drop in to meet the friendly volunteers, explore fascinating photos and relics, and hear stories from the days when gold fever swept through the hills. It’s a wonderful chance to discover the rich history of Blackwood, Barrys Reef and Greenhills, and see how this remarkable township came to be.
