Meet the farmers behind Trentham’s famous spuds!

Potato farming has been central to the Trentham district since the 1850’s, built on the rich, red soils of our region and the tough, pioneers who first tilled the land.

Many of our remaining spud farmers are the descendants of the original Trentham farming families, continuing the tradition and producing some of the best potatoes around.

Be sure to visit our farmers and their spuds, fresh from this year’s harvest at the Railway precinct.

This is your chance to hear first-hand the best way to cook and prepare everyone’s favourite tuber from Kennebecs, Pontiacs, Kipflers and Dutch creams our farmers will be happy to share their knowledge. Mash, bake or fry them, these fresh from the farm spuds will be delish!
