FAQs

Need the scoop on Spudfest? Our FAQ page is here to hash out the details, peel back the layers of info, and help you avoid any half-baked confusion!

Is Spudfest free?

You bet your potato it is — well, mostly!

General entry to Spudfest is free, but we do kindly ask for a gold coin donation at the gate to help keep things a-peeling for everyone and continue the spud fun for years to come!

Some special events and activities are ticketed or have a small fee — so bring a few extra chips (coins or card) if you’re keen to dig into something extra spud-tacular!

What is the difference between Saturday and Sunday?

Saturday is the day where roads are closed for our Street Fair.  Town will be booming with live entertainment, local stalls & more potato-themed fun!

Sunday is Discovery Day, an opportunity to explore Trentham and the surrounding region with Farm Tours, Farm Gate Trail, Spudfeast and more.

Where is everything?

For the Street Fair, we’ve mashed together all the festival goodness across town — from tasty food stalls and toe-tapping tunes to the Spud Olympics, Town Square, Market Street Makers, Kids Zone, and more!

To help you navigate the patch like a pro, check out our Street Fair Map. It’ll point you to all the hot spots and activity zones.

The Discovery Day Map for Sunday will show you where to find the producers of the Farm Gate Trail, where to enjoy a meal as part of Spudfeast and more!

Where can I park?

Parking on both days is available in the surrounding streets of the festival in town - Park Street, Camp Street, Bath Street, Quarry Street, Cosmo Road and more.

Where is accessible parking?

We have reserved some spots for disabled parking on either side of the Railway Precinct entrance on Victoria Street.

Access is by either side of Victoria Street (from Quarry Street or Bath Street).  Our traffic mangement crew will be able to guide you!

Can I bring my furry friends

Yes you can!! Provided that they are on lead.  There will be dog water bowls at the Information Stands.  There's also an off-lead dog park on Market Street (on the other side of High Street near the Trentham Pool) if your puppas need to blow off some steam after being in the crowds!

Can I vote in Trentham for the Federal Election on Saturday?

There is a Polling Station at the Trentham Primary School, just up Victoria Street.  It's open from 8am to 6pm.  So go and vote then enjoy the Spuds!

Where are the toilets?

You'll find toilet blocks on Market Street (just across High Street), at Quarry Reserve, and in the Railway Precinct.

We’ve also sprinkled extra portable loos throughout the festival for the Street Fair on Saturday: check out the Kids Zone, both ends of Albert Street, and right near Spud Olympics Registration in the Railway Precinct.

Where are the drinking fountains?

There are a few permanent drinking fountains in town at Town Square and Quarry Reserve.

Thanks to Coliban Water, there's also a Drinking Station in the Railway Precinct, on the station platform.

Where can I buy merchandise?

For the Street Fair on Saturday, head on down to the Railway Precinct to pick up all your Spudfest goodies!! There will also be a display up in Town Square for you to look at, and decide what you want to buy on your way down to the Railway!

For Discovery Day on Sunday, merchandise will be available at Town Square (aka the Spud Hub), provided it's not all sold out - it all does sell like hot cakes!

Where can I buy my spuds?

Our legendary Spud Farmers can be found in the Railway Precinct on Saturday for the Street Fair - you can't miss them as you walk in, on the right hand side!

For Discovery Day on the Sunday, the legends will be re-locating to Town Square.  Make sure you get their favourite Tater Recipe!

Where's the Information Stand?

For Saturday, there are TWO Information Stands, so we have you covered!

  • Railway Precinct - to the left as you walk in the entrance on Victoria Street

  • Town Square - come see us on the footpath of High Street

For Discovery Day, the Information Stand will be in Town Square (this is also where you can get all your Scavenger Hunt info and buy your Horse & Cart tickets!)

Our volunteers would be happy to answer any questions that you have!

Where is a quiet space?

There are a few quiet spots nearby, including a park on Market St (other side of High St) and the beautiful Quarry Reserve on Quarry St for a peaceful escape.

Where is first aid?

St Johns Ambulance will be set up at the corner of High Street and Market Street (outside the Trentham Neighbourhood Centre).  Simple First Aid will be available at the Kids Zone and Spud Olympics as well.

Where's an ATM?

Most, if not all, our vendors take EFTPOS, but if you were after the $$ our lovely Sponsor Community Bank of Trentham, Bendigo Bank, has an ATM on the High Street

What are these Spud Olympics and how do I enter?

There are spud and spoon races, potato sack races, Tough Spudder (carrying spuds) and the Great Peel Off.

All free to enter!  Go to the Spud Registration stand at the Railway Precinct for more info!

Who is that guy with a camera?

On Saturday, Street Fair, we have a videographer who will be capturing the excitment and fun of Spudfest. It will mostly be footage of crowds etc.

Not feeling camera-ready? No worries at all! Just give him a heads-up and we’ll make sure you stay out of frame. We’re all about keeping things respectful and fun.
